5-Minute Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce - Simple, Creamy, and Perfectly Balanced

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • Dijon mustard (2 tablespoons) – for tang and depth
  • Honey (2 tablespoons) – for sweetness and body
  • Mayonnaise (2 tablespoons) – for creaminess and balance
  • Apple cider vinegar or lemon juice (1–2 teaspoons) – for brightness
  • Garlic powder (1/4 teaspoon) – optional but highly recommended
  • Kosher salt (a pinch) – to round out the flavors
  • Black pepper (a pinch) – for a subtle bite
  • Water (1–2 teaspoons) – optional, to thin if needed

Method

  1. Grab a small bowl. Make sure it’s big enough to whisk without splashing.
  2. Add the base ingredients. Spoon in the Dijon, honey, and mayonnaise.
  3. Brighten it up. Add the vinegar or lemon juice. Start with 1 teaspoon; you can add more later.
  4. Season. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of black pepper.
  5. Whisk until smooth. Mix for 20–30 seconds until it’s glossy and fully combined.
  6. Taste and adjust. Want it sweeter? Add a little more honey. Need more tang? Add another splash of vinegar or lemon.
  7. Adjust the texture. If it’s too thick for dipping, whisk in 1–2 teaspoons of water until it flows the way you like.
  8. Serve right away with chicken tenders, fries, pretzels, roasted potatoes, or raw veggies.
